The Enigma of Hitler
Salvador Dalí
Jamie Davis

Salvador Dalí was born in 1904 and died in 1989. He painted "The Enigma of Hitler" in 1937. The colors or the painting make it look dressing because they are dark and dull, with colors like brown, grey, and black.A phone hangs from a tree branch, with one end broekn and water or a tear falling from the other end. An umbrella is also hanging from the tree, and is transparent. Below the phone is a yellow plate with a picture of Hitler, and 5 beans. There are two bats flying away and in the background there is a woamn behind the umbrella. holding a tissue from her hand.  The almost empty plate shows that during this time period and the depression, there was little food. The broken phone might show that there was no way to communicate with family. The tear and the woman in the back show the sadness of the effects from Hitler. I think Dalí painted this to show how Hitler had changed the world in a sad way. The painting is good, but i personally dont' like it. I think it helps people understand the things that Hitler had done, and the events that took place in the 1930's.
