This painting is called femme ecrivant . The famous Spanish artist,
Pablo Picasso, painted it. His style of art was known as cubism. His artistic
ideas developed this type of artwork and he has greatly been awarded for
this. He also painted using surrealism. In this painting there are different
shapes or purple used throughout the painting. Also greens, yellows, and
browns are used. He used cubism in femme ecrivant to show a distorted image
of a woman writing something. The tone is very calm and soothing. There is
no major action in this, but rather beauty in the woman which came together
using very many different shapes. I think Pablo Picasso drew this picture
to show how using different shapes and everything can come together to make
something as beautiful as a woman. The shapes aren't perfectly put together
but you can still see the image and i think this is what he wanted us to
see.
I like this painting because i think it is fascinating how you can take weird
shapes and make an image of a woman. I like the different colors he used.
The setting in the background is darker that where the woman is. To me the
painting is showing the beauty in the woman even when distortedly put together.
To improve this painting i would have the woman be some sort of famous quote
that the painting could be about. I think it would be better instead of having
just drawing scribbly lines. This would make a more dramatic effect on what
the woman has to say and would make viewers think more about the painting. |
